BoutCoach (available at boutcoach.com) is an AI-powered fencing bout analysis service that helps athletes and coaches review fencing exchanges and receive phrase-by-phrase tactical coaching feedback. We are committed to handling your information with transparency and care. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using BoutCoach, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2.1 Video Data When you upload a fencing video for analysis, your video file is never transmitted to our servers. All initial processing occurs locally within your web browser. As part of generating AI coaching feedback, processed video data is sent to our AI analysis provider. This data is used solely to produce your analysis, is not stored by BoutCoach, and is discarded once the response is returned. 2.2 Movement Data During analysis, movement and positioning data is computed from your video locally within your browser. A summary of this data is transmitted to our AI analysis provider to support the coaching analysis. No persistent record of this data is retained by BoutCoach. 2.3 User Annotations Any annotations you provide — such as touch outcomes, weapon type, or notes — are processed in your browser and included in the analysis request sent to our AI analysis provider. This information is not stored on our servers beyond the duration of the request. 2.4 IP Address and Usage Logs To manage fair access during our private beta, we log each completed analysis. Each log entry includes: your IP address, your browser's User-Agent string, the number of phrases analyzed, the weapon type selected (foil, épée, or sabre), and a timestamp. This information is used solely to enforce per-user usage limits during the beta period. Usage logs are stored in a plain-text file on our server and are not shared with third parties. 2.5 Feedback If you submit optional feedback after an analysis, we record your response, a brief note if provided, and the same metadata as usage logs (IP address, User-Agent, timestamp, phrase count, weapon type). 2.6 Waitlist Email (Optional) If you sign up for our waitlist, we collect your email address along with your role (e.g., coach or athlete), preferred weapon, IP address, and the date of signup. This information is stored in a database and used only to notify you about future access to BoutCoach. 2.7 Analytics (Optional) We may use PostHog, a product analytics tool, to collect anonymized usage event data such as page views, button clicks, and analysis completions. If enabled, PostHog may store a persistent identifier in your browser's local storage. No personally identifiable information is intentionally included in analytics events. You can opt out by disabling JavaScript or using a browser extension that blocks tracking scripts.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes: • To provide fencing bout analysis and AI-generated coaching feedback • To enforce fair-use limits during the private beta period • To improve the quality and accuracy of our service • To notify waitlist subscribers when broader access becomes available • To understand how users interact with BoutCoach (analytics, if enabled) We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

4.1 AI Analysis Provider BoutCoach uses a third-party AI analysis provider to generate coaching feedback. When you run an analysis, selected video frames and computed metrics are sent to this provider's servers. The provider processes this data under their own privacy policy. We do not send any account information, names, or other personally identifying information to our AI analysis provider. 4.2 PostHog Analytics If analytics are enabled, BoutCoach uses PostHog to collect product usage data. PostHog's privacy practices are described at https://posthog.com/privacy. Analytics are optional and can be disabled.

• Video files: Never stored. Processed in your browser only. • Video frames sent to our AI analysis provider: Not retained by BoutCoach. Discarded after analysis. • Usage and feedback logs: Retained indefinitely on our server for operational purposes. We plan to implement a rolling retention policy in the future. • Waitlist email data: Retained until you request deletion or the waitlist program ends. • Analytics data (if enabled): Governed by PostHog's retention policies.

All data transmitted between your browser and BoutCoach is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS). API calls to our AI analysis provider are also made over HTTPS. Usage and feedback logs are stored on a secured server with access restricted to authorized personnel. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

BoutCoach is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to: • Request access to the personal data we hold about you • Request correction or deletion of your personal data • Object to or restrict our processing of your data • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent Because BoutCoach does not require account creation, we may not be able to identify you by name.
